SQZ Illustration Studio, founded in Tokyo in 2019 by artist Stan. Q. Zhang, focuses on free hand illustrations of architecture and cities.

Aiming to tell stories of each building and city in a minimal method,

each piece is illustrated in the simplest way: black ink on white paper.

Strong contrast between objects and shadows

is the main methodology to highlight the uniqueness.

Such style fits minimal interior very well, and has been popular since our very first piece.
